Carl Fields, Jr.
Carl Fields, Jr. has worked in the area of banking for over twenty-five years. Among his varied experiences are included: Branch Manager for Marine Midland Bank where he was responsible for a full service facility in the Wall Street area; during his tenure he grew the deposit base by $15 million and loan outstanding by $8million. Later he worked in the Bronx with Chase Manhattan building the deposit base to $90million and was later promoted to Regional Manager, where he was responsible for 15 branches in the South Bronx and eventually he led the Small Business team for the entire Bronx and finally continued with Chase Manhattan to lead a newly established Community Development Bank for the Bronx and Upper Manhattan, including Harlem. Currently he serves as the Vice President/Branch Manager for Capitol One in busy downtown Jamaica NY, where he manages a deposit facility of $100 million with outstandings of $40 million.

He serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Jamaica YMCA as well as a Board Member for the Jamaica Center for Arts and learning. He also serves as a Board Member for the York College Foundation that raises funds to provide tuition assistance for students

Carl is a Founding Mentor for the Moriah Institute's Rites of Passage program. He served with great enthusiasm in the early formation of the program, which began almost 19 years ago as part of the offerings for youth at The Riverside Church. In addition to mentoring youth and also sometimes mentoring the mentors, Carl created and leads the Pathways and Choices workshop for youth in the program; he also leads the workshops on finance/budgeting. At a time when there are few places where young people can be positively influenced by the experience and dedication of African American males, who are able to challenge them to reach for excellence, who “meet them where they are" and convey both personal integrity and genuine concern for their well being, Carl steps up to the plate. Over the years, he has touched the lives of hundreds of young people in the tri-sate area.
